Guest Author Feature: The Barefoot Sub

The He Will Obey anthology has been out for a couple of months now and I had the honor of hosting The Barefoot Sub on my blog this month! The barefoot sub can be found over at A Leap of Faith reminiscing about her self-discovery through kink while also sharing smut that is yet to happen. You can find her over at Twitter, usually getting distracted by the filthy GIFs, and occasionally on instagram, where she is almost always covered in rope.

Who was the first erotica author that made you binge read their work?

The first erotica author that I binge read was Selina Kitt. Her literotica series "Under Mr Nolan's Bed" was my favourite one handed read for a very long time. She has since been published and it is slightly less binge worthy in it's published book form, but it still holds it's own in my erotica reading time.

What’s your favorite genre to read?

My favourite genre is Autobiographical novels. Buckowski is my favourite author, and has maintained top spot for 7 or 8 years now. Ham and Rye is a good place to start, if you want a gritty novelist to sink your teeth into.

Do you do research for your stories or are they based on your personal fantasies and experiences?

My writing is mostly based on my own experiences, fantasies and (in the case of “Maria Likes To Win”) frustrations. Any research I do is either by living an idea, or informal through chatting with a wide and varied friendship group. Social media has allowed the net to be much wider than I ever could have imagined, and I am forever grateful to those wonderful people who make up my world.

When you read, do you prefer audiobooks, e-books, or physical books? Why?

I have always loved books. The act of reading isn't quite the same without turning the physical pages, and the smell of them, especially second hand finds... However, reading time is very short, especially with the ongoing covid restrictions and homeschooling. I really struggle with ebooks. Reading on a screen is exhausting for my eyes. A new discovery for me is Audiobooks. I have recently started to listen to books as well, and am really enjoying engaging with the written word in a new way.

Do you have any upcoming projects you’d like to talk about?

My main focus is my blog, aleapoffaith.uk, and the positivity meme I have set up, mindful-moments.aleapoffaith.uk. I'm writing my first full length novel too, which is scary. Watch this space!

One of The Barefoot Sub’s favorite passages from her anthology story, “Marie Likes to Win:”

She met his eyes again, this time challenging him as her hand slid down over the soft fabric, the last semblance of modesty covering her brazen, slutty and smooth mound.

Sliding first one finger beneath, then a second. Plundering her folds and withdrawing. Tasting her nectar before proffering the dirty digits to her prey. He leant closer on the sofa, wrapped his lips around her and used his tongue to clean them thoroughly. Marie relaxed back further, spread her legs a little further and innocently asked “would you like another taste? A proper one this time?” His gaze now at that little patch of dark fabric, which was getting darker with every word she spoke. He nodded, lost in his desires. “Down on your knees then. Show me how much you want me…”

The Barefoot Sub can be found on Twitter at @thebarefootsub so give her a follow for more updates on her blog and writings!

Rhythm of the Rain is out now!

After months of waiting (on my end at least) Rhythm of the Rain is out now! This is the second book in the Unbound series and follows Sam, Reyn’s best friend from Atlas Calling. This book was the most challenging I’ve written. I spoke about my experience with a sensitivity reader in an earlier blog post but I hired one because Sam is disabled and uses a wheelchair. While I researched this topic, I didn’t fully understand my own prejudices until I used a sensitivity reader. After her comments and learning just how hurtful some of the things I wrote were, I did a complete overhaul of the story and language used. What affected me most about this was how much I grew throughout the writing and editing of Sam’s story. I had to face my own internal bias, come to terms with it, and then change. Writing can be a transformative experience and in the case of Rhythm of the Rain, it definitely was. I can’t wait to share this book with readers and look forward to seeing your reviews!

RHYTHMOFTHERAIN.jpg

Three years ago, Sam Rutledge left Texas after a falling out with his father. Now he’s back to help his sister make tough decisions and assist on the family ranch due to his parents ailing health. Before he reaches his childhood home, he’s involved in a serious car accident that alters the course of his life forever. Responsible for the future of his family’s business and reeling as he adapts to life as a paraplegic, Sam clings to the part of himself that always brought him peace—being a dominant.

Kit Boyce thought she’d seen the last of her first love. But there he was, lying on a hospital bed at Cottonwood Medical Center. It’s her job as a nurse to take care of him, but she needs to put her feelings aside to overcome the past, to be professional and make sure Sam has the best environment to heal in.

When the pull of unresolved feelings and raw passion brings these two together again, Sam takes the opportunity to ask Kit to help him rediscover who he is as a dominant. Will Kit and Sam work through the past and overcome the obstacles of the future for their love to survive?

This contemporary erotic romance is book two in the Unbound series. It follows Sam, Reyn’s best friend, from book one. It can be read as a standalone.

Guest Author Feature: Ruan Willow

The He Will Obey Anthology has been out for about a week now and we are getting great feedback from readers! This week, one of my fellow co-authors, Ruan Willow, answered a few questions about erotica, writing, and what projects she has coming up!

Ruan Willow is the erotica pen name for a multi-genre author. She enjoys reading and writing immensely and never plans to stop doing either for as long as she lives. She enjoys her family, pets, friends, being outdoors, working out, and cooking. Sleeping is her least favorite activity.

How did you get started writing erotica/erotic romance? Was there a specific event that made you go, “yes this is the genre for me”?

I actually had been wanting to try out writing erotica for quite awhile before I actually did it. I am published under my real name in nonfiction across the internet and I have two books (one more about to come out next year). I started out by creating a Twitter account (@RuanchyIs). I did it totally on a whim thinking, I’m just going to try out writing some erotic things online and see where this goes. It was a total experiment! It really took off for me and I really began to grow quickly. I found I really loved it and I loved connecting with people on my Twitter account (still do every day). People began to ask me for longer works of my erotica, so I created a website. Then they began to ask me for audio because they enjoyed my voice, so I began to record erotica snippets and a few stories to post on YouTube. That grew further into writing short stories and I’m currently working on an erotic book as well.

What is your favorite platform for your work? Ebook, literotica, your personal website? Why?

I love writing on my own website because I can add images and write exactly what I want, or what fans have asked for. Though I’ve just had my first story accepted by literotica and that is a very fun site to be on because of the large exposure. I’m getting visitors to my website through literotica now too so that’s always a bonus, and a reason to write for other sites. This anthology is my first erotica piece in an actual book, but I hope to do more going forward.

What’s your favorite genre to read?

I love to read romance, erotica, erotic romance, sci-fi, YA, and fantasy. Those would be my top genre picks to read.

Do you do research for your stories or are they based on your personal fantasies and experiences?

My stories are based on both experience and personal fantasies. I do research on occasion for details or ideas to add into a story. My brain seems to be able to stretch across multiple scenarios because I can easily write straight, bisexual, or lesbian pieces. I can also easily dream up stories with varying premises including romance, erotica, BDSM, and multiple partner stories.

Do you have any upcoming projects you’d like to talk about?

I’m working on an erotic short story with an editor right now. Plus, I have my book that I’m currently revising. I’ve also started to act as an influencer for sex toys where I write review posts for sex toy companies on my website. And I’m always writing more stories to add to my website too. I get many requests from readers so I have a long list to work from and it will take me awhile to get through them all! But I love it when people request a story. I try to add it to my list so I don’t forget their special request.

Here’s a passage she loves from her anthology story, “Harley’s Peeping Punishment:”

“You want to play a little naughty game with me, Harley?”

His eyes flare open. “Do I? Hell yes, I do.” His jaw falls, his tongue rests on his lower lip as he takes in her full body.

“Good,” she mutters. “Will you go over and stand facing that bookshelf while I go try on a new piece of lingerie? I want to know a man’s opinion about it.”

He takes another swig of beer before stumbling quickly to the bookshelf.

“Careful now, don’t spill. And would you be a dear and strip your shirt off for me, just so we both have some skin showing. Makes us more even.”

“Oh, sure, I will do that … Kiara. Anything for you.”

Her eyes take in his boner, pressing at full hardness against his jeans as he removes his shirt.

“Mmm. I see that, Harley. Good boy. And yes, I’ve told you that you can call me Kiara.”

She hurries to her room and pulls out her new mesh mini dress, pulling her nipples out to poke through the holes. She adjusts it over her hips and grabs her leather handcuffs from her bedside drawer.

She saunters back into the living room, slips on her work heels, flippantly eyeing the dirt specks and struts over to where Harley is pretending to read the book titles. “Can you be a hun and put your hands behind your back? I love to see man muscles when they are clenched up like that. So damn sexy.”

“Oh, sure thing, Kiara.” He brings his hands together behind his back and she takes the beer from his hand, places it on the coffee table.

“It also presses out your sexy chest. I love that.” She snickers silently as he opens and closes his hands. She says, “I’m going to touch you, but don’t worry, I won’t hurt you.” Yet.

He sighs and his head tips back a bit. “Oh, my Gawd. Kiara, I’d love that so much. You have no idea.”

She gently grabs his wrists and gently slips the cuffs on, pressing them closed quickly to lock them.

He jerks his trapped arms up. “Wait, what? Oh, fuck. Oh, shit! Handcuffs?”

“Is that okay with you, Harley? I think it’s so hot.”

“Yes. I mean, I’ve never been handcuffed before, but, yes. it’s okay.” He drops his chin towards his chest.

Guest Author Feature: Jaymie Wagner

Hello all! To celebrate the release of the He Will Obey Anthology, I’ll be featuring a few of my fellow anthology authors on my blog. Erotica is a new-to-me genre (I write erotic romance) but the community has been more than welcoming and I’m excited to feature some of these great writers here on my blog. Today’s feature will be Jaymie Wagner!

Author Jaymie Wagner

Author Jaymie Wagner

Jaymie Wagner is a queer trans author, computer nerd, and giant robot enthusiast.
She lives in the Twin Cities area with her two cats and a rotating cast of friends and lovers, practices erotic hypnosis, and is a Very Good Pet.

In her much more boring real life, she works as a data analyst for a big company and spends far too much time watching Adam Savage building stuff on youtube instead of getting her work done.

We talked about writing, life, and new projects she has coming up, along with where to find more of her work.

How did you get started writing erotica/erotic romance? Was there a specific event that made you go, “yes this is the genre for me”?

I’ve always loved reading and writing stories, and when I started getting interested in sex and such, I found erotic writing always did way more for me than just looking at a picture or five seconds of porn before the scrambler on the TV kicked in. (And oh, boy, did I just date myself!)

I started writing stories that became more and more erotic as I began to explore my gender and transition, and it was such an amazing way to play with those concepts and fantasies - and even better when others enjoyed them, too!

What is your favorite platform for your work? Ebook, literotica, your personal website? Why?
I started writing on twitter in the “micro story” format as an experiment. It was a way to get ideas out of my head, but it was also a very deliberate decision to separate my writing from my “vanilla” web presence - easy to drop away if I decided it was unsuccessful or too close to home.

I knew the tweet format was going to put a lot of limitations on what I said and how I presented it, but working within those limitations and finding ways to play with them has been a really fun way of challenging myself and making my writing better!

What’s your favorite genre to read?
For someone who has several stories featuring fantasy elements, I’m actually a huge Sci-fi nerd. I cut my teeth on authors like Asimov and Ben Bova, then moved on to Lois McMaster Bujold, John Scalzi, N.K. Jemisin, Charles Stross and many others. I certainly enjoy a lot of other genres, but sci-fi that really has a galaxy sweeping scale or challenges my assumptions is a good comfort read for me.

Erotica is one of the genres in which it’s vital to help the reader experience the fantasy of your work along with the characters. Do you have an ideal reader in mind as you write? What characteristics do they have?

I think my ideal reader is someone who is willing to let themselves be swept up into the story, to sink into the fantasies. I think they’ve got a curious and open mind, and they don't mind having some fun along the way.

Do you have any upcoming projects you’d like to talk about?

Well, I have a new twitter story in progress right now that I hope to release soon, but the biggest thing on my plate is actually a novel I’ve been working on for the last couple of years. If you like lesbian werewolves, ancient magics, and intrigue, you may just be interested in what I’m cooking up!

With no active fishing at the moment and most of the crew below decks checking email or playing cards, it was as if he had the entire sea to himself, and Liam loved it like nothing else.

He took a long deep breath of the salt-tinged air, letting it fill his lungs before slowly exhaling back out, and closed his eyes to better hear the sounds of the ocean on the wind.

On nights like this, he could almost imagine the rushing air and soft chop blending into a haunting melody.

Come down, come down, down to me love.

Come down, come down, and find me now.

Come down, come down, into the sea.

Come down, come down, and be here with me.

He Will Obey Anthology Available Now!

This holiday season, I’ve had the great opportunity to be a part of the He Will Obey anthology! I took a short break from writing the final book in the Unbound series to write a short story, “Date Night.” This story follows a married couple taking a break from their daily grind to indulge their favorite fantasy and bedroom dynamic.

There are so many fantastic erotica authors included in this anthology and I can’t wait to read the other stories! Special thanks to Jay Willowbay, erotica author and editor of this anthology. He worked incredibly hard editing and putting this collection together, not to mention getting a cover done and formatting it for Kindle.

All that being said, take a break from your daily grind and enjoy these twenty-one sizzling stories of female domination! He Will Obey is available on Kindle, Kindle-Unlimited, and will be coming soon to print-on-demand. If you enjoy any of the pieces you read, please consider leaving a review on Amazon and Goodreads.

“21 sizzling stories where women are in charge, and men kneel on command! We have switching couples, subby couples, hypno pets, sissies, femboys, cuckolds, chastity slaves, phone subs and more, but every man in this anthology has one thing in common:He. Will. Obey.”
